Giving my local theatre the West End treatment
It was the turn of West Side Story for MYT’s biggest production of the year. Bursting with talented, NODA winners, MYT were looking for the real deal in theatre collateral. They wanted a pristine theatre poster and of course the world-class quality theatre programme to neatly decorate the audience’s experience.
The programme, like the show itself, was heavily inspired by New York’s West Side in the 1960s. The colour palette being strictly black and white with a full rich blood red dashed throughout to convey the show’s themes of love and of course death. We used some strong traditional headings to suit the heritage of theatre while all other information was set in a modern typeface to remain current and in-line with youth theatre group themselves.
